= The RTC Board =
== Introduction ==
The battery board is a simple Lithium Battery charger and power supply. It has an ultra low power LDO (Low DropOut Regulator) to generate 3.3V from the battery input. It works nicely with the [[PlatformBoard | Platform Board]] or right into your breadboard.
* Uses the popular [http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/20001984g.pdf MCP73831] to handle the battery charging
* Ultra Low Iq (~2uA) Linear 3.3V Regulator [http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/22008E.pdf MCP1702]
* Robust Micro USB connector for charging and standard JST connector for battery connection
* Breaks out the USB 5V in for detection or as a separate supply, also Battery Voltage is available for fuel gauging... or again as a separate supply.

 == Introduction ==
 Based on the low cost easy to use Real Time Clock IC MCP7940, this board offers a simple breakout for the part taking care of the sensitive crystal connections (probably wouldn't work very accurately on a breadboard).  The 'N' version is with a battery backup, where the 'M' is not.  Either part can be used.... if the N version is placed, then the board also provides a CR1220 battery holder, which should work with 12 or 12.5mm batteries.
